The Minister was replying to a question raised by a Member during the Monsoon Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha today

Chandigarh, August 31 – Haryana Education Minister Sh. MahipalDhanda said that the construction of Guru Tegh Bahadur Women’s College at Taraori in Karnal district was announced by the then Chief Minister in 2015, following which construction work commenced in 2018.

According to the latest report received from the construction agency, the Public Works Department (Buildings and Roads), Haryana, 85 per cent of the construction work of the college has been completed. However, the project was stalled due to litigation-related issues, and the construction agency terminated the work on July 5, 2023.

The Minister informed that the Department has already issued a revised administrative approval of ₹223.7135 crore for the project on August 3, 2026. The work will be restarted within two months.He further stated that action would be taken against officials found negligent in the execution of the work.
