Patiala, August 3:
A district-level meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Harjot Kaur Mavi under the Special Grievance Redressal Drive being run by the Punjab Government for the timely disposal of pending cases related to freedom fighters and their dependents. The meeting reviewed the pending cases in various departments in the district in detail.
During the meeting, the pending proposals related to naming roads, squares, dispensaries, government buildings and other public places after freedom fighters were discussed. Apart from this, the current status of other pending cases in various departments was reviewed and necessary steps were also discussed for their early disposal.
Assistant Commissioner Harjot Kaur Mavi instructed the officers of the concerned departments to present the latest status of pending cases related to their respective departments and ensure their disposal on priority basis as per the rules. He said that all the departments should work in coordination with each other so that unnecessary delay can be avoided.
It was also said in the meeting that matters related to the honor of freedom fighters should be taken with full seriousness and wherever administrative or technical approvals are required, they should be completed immediately. On this occasion, instructions were also given to regularly review the pending cases and ensure timely disposal.
Officers of various departments participated in the meeting and presented the progress report of the matters related to their departments.
