Patiala: Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), Patiala, has
achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first university in Punjab to launch an
ISSN-approved journal dedicated to Artificial Intelligence. The University’s official journal,
the International Journal of AI in Practice (IJAiP), has been assigned ISSN: 3139-5856,
marking a major step forward in advancing AI research and scholarly publishing in the
region. The initiative was conceptualized and successfully led by Dr. Gaurav Dhiman,
Assistant Professor, whose vision and dedicated efforts played a pivotal role in establishing
the International Journal of AI in Practice (IJAIP) and securing its ISSN registration.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh congratulated the entire School of Sciences
and Emerging Technologies (SSET) for their commendable efforts in achieving this
milestone. He appreciated the department’s dedication towards strengthening the University’s
research ecosystem and fostering a culture of quality scholarly publications. Dr. Kuldeep
Walia, Director, Centre for Internal Quality Assurance (CIQA), and Dr. Amitoj Singh, Dean,
Academic Affairs, also extended their heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Gaurav Dhiman and the
SSET Department. They acknowledged the collective efforts and commitment of the team in
attaining this prestigious achievement. The launch of this ISSN-approved journal is expected
to provide a strong platform for researchers, academicians, and industry experts to contribute
to the growing body of knowledge in Artificial Intelligence and its practical applications.
