Amritsar, August 14 : – The national festival of Independence Day will be celebrated with great enthusiasm in Amritsar on August 15. During the district-level Independence Day function being organized at Guru Nanak Stadium, Amritsar, the national flag will be unfurled by Punjab Cabinet Minister Shri Aman Arora.
Giving details about the Independence Day celebrations, Deputy Commissioner Shri Dalwinderjit Singh said that Amritsar is fully prepared to celebrate the national festival with enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. He said that during the district-level function at Guru Nanak Stadium, Cabinet Minister Shri Aman Arora will unfurl the National Flag at exactly 9:00 AM.
Thereafter, the Chief Guest will inspect the parade and deliver the Independence Day address. This will be followed by a spectacular March Past by contingents of the Punjab Police, Punjab Women Platoon, Punjab Home Guards and NCC Cadets, along with the Punjab Police Band and school band teams.
The Deputy Commissioner said that to add to the festive spirit of the Independence Day celebrations, school students will present a colourful and impressive cultural programme. On the occasion, individuals who have achieved notable accomplishments in various fields will also be specially honoured.
The Deputy Commissioner invited all residents of the district to participate in the Independence Day celebrations in large numbers. He said that Independence Day is our national festival, and all of us should celebrate it together with great enthusiasm, pride and patriotic spirit.
